ogun youth chairman decorates abeokuta south local government chairman as grand patron, urges youths to be agents of positive change
Ogun State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe has charged the youths of the State to continue being an instrument of positive change to the Gateway State and Nigeria at large. He gave the charge today at the inauguration of the new Executives of Abeokuta South Local Government Branch of NYCN and official decoration of the Local Government Transition Chairman as the Grand Patron of the Youth Council for the Local branch.
According to Ayelaagbe, “Youths are the cornerstone of sustainable development and greatest possession for positive change cum national development in any society, we as youths should always be passionate about positively affecting our society and exemplary leadership at all our service points.”
The Ogun Youth Leader appreciated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for trusting the Youths of Ogun State with leadership position and given issues affecting youth with priority. “It’s of utmost importance to appreciate our youth loving Governor for the confidence in the youths of the State by appointing them into several first line governmental positions. Everybody handling youth responsibilities in this government are youths.
“Aside the youth constituency, young people were also appointed in critical positions in government at State level while some others are serving at local government level. This to us is highly commendable not forgetting engagements of our youth in various agricultural programmes such as Anchor Borrowers, Cassava, Rice and Cotton farming,” Ayelaagbe said.
Ayelaagbe commended Abeokuta South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Shomide for his efforts in ensuring Abeokuta South Local Government reclaim her special place in leadership. He further appreciated his support for the Youths while advocating for more collaboration on youth capacity building.
Hon. Shomide thanked the Youths for the honour bestowed upon him as he urged them to remain good Ambassadors of the Local Government and State. He also assured them of his continued services at all times.
