The youth leadership of Ogun State has appealed to the youths of the State to suspend all forms of road protest, blockage and use the opportunity of the Judicial Panel of Investigation to enable dialogue and to seek justice for our loved ones.
This was contained in a release signed by the Ogun State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe and made available to newsmen at Ogun State Youth House, MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, on Friday 23rd of October, 2020.
The statement reads in part,
“We humbly appeal to our ever gallant, innovative, resourceful and energetic youths of Ogun State to suspend all forms of street protest and blockage of roads across our State.
“We salute the uncommon courage of our youths who turned out in large numbers to protest the incessant brutalities of our countrymen by Men and Officers of the Special Anti Robbery squad of the Police Force and some other security agents. In our bid to have a system we can all be proud of, the fundamental human rights of our youth and other citizens shall always be protected. We have spoken and our voice has been heard. It is now the time for us to dialogue and move forward.”
The Chairman appealed to the youths to make use of the opportunity of the Judicial Panel of Investigation to seek justice and necessary compensations for our teeming youths and make use of the window extended by the Governor to further press other demands.
According to the youth leadership, there is an ongoing harmonization of all #EndSARS protest groups in Ogun State towards presenting consolidated demands to the government.
