youth council remains the umbrella body for all youth groups – olamide lawal
The Special Assistant to Ogun State Governor on Youth Affairs, Com. Olamide Lawal on Tuesday November 24, 2020, reiterated the position of the National Youth Council of Nigeria as the umbrella body for all youth formations across the country.
Lawal made this known, at the State Secretariat of the Youth Council, during an engagement with the youth leadership. Citing the National Youth Policy document as the regulatory tool for youth affairs in Nigeria, he urged all youth groups and stakeholders to continue synergize with the Youth Council for proper representation and continued development of the youth constituency.
“Our dear Father and Governor of Ogun State will continue to demonstrate all necessary support to youth capacity building. And it is the hope of this government that the youth leadership continues to meet expectations in partnership for progressive change,” Lawal said.
Appreciating the Special Assistant to the Governor on the visit to the youth leadership of Ogun State, Ogun State Youth Chairman, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe, commended Lawal on the usual representation of the youths’ interest while he gave an assurance of the Youth Council to remain accessible for all youth-focused programmes.
