ogun youth chairman flags off free artificial intelligence training for ogun youth

As part of Ogun Youth Skill Acquisition Programme initiated by the 9th leadership of the Ogun State chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), the State Chairman, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe on Tuesday 1st December, 2020 flagged off Artificial Intelligence training at Oke Aro ICT Center, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The programme which has close to a hundred young people in attendance, across the State, is designed to equip young people with future labour market demands, and the required skills in the 21st century labour market and job creation techniques.

Represented by State Public Relations Officer 2, Com. Farouk Olaotan Shitta, the Chairman urged participants to use the rare opportunity of the training to acquire the AI skills which is the most sought skill worldwide today. He noted “technology is fast taking away jobs/task human being does to earn a living such as internet banking replacing physical banking, use of apps and robots/machine replacing other human being activities, and as such, we have to prepare our youth to have requisite skills to fit in into global demands.”

The Chairman called on privileged members of the society to support initiatives of this nature to turn the tide of our teeming youth from being job seekers to job creators thereby curbing youth restiveness and unemployment.

The four days intensive training which commenced on Tuesday 1st December is expected to end today Friday 4th December, 2020, with award of certificate for the Participants.
