The State Chairman of Ogun State Youth Council, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe, has described the youth leadership of Sabo in Sagamu as an organized body of responsible and patriotic young Nigerians.

Delivering a lecture on “Youth Empowerment, Skill and Knowledge Acquisition as a Source of Youth Development,” Ayelaagbe commended the zeal and commitment of the Sabo Youth Leaders towards building a better future for the youths of their communities.

According to Ayelaagbe, “It is an incontrovertible fact today that government alone cannot solve the innumerable challenges of unemployment in our society. The white collar job is no longer available, this informed why the youth leadership of Ogun State have taken it upon ourselves to launch Ogun Youth Skill Acquisition Programme where interested young people are selected, and enrolled in different vocational training…

“At graduation, such young people shall be handed over needed work tools and equipment that will make them self-sufficient and become employer of labour.

“I am happy to report that the first batch of this programme will graduate by next month, February 2021, at Abeokuta North Local Government. Other Local Governments have also keyed into this project for the benefits of the teeming youth population across our Local Governments,” he said.

In commemoration of the celebration towards building youth capacity and promotion of youth empowerment, the organizers of the event made a commendable presentation of Back-to-School items (books, bags, etc.) to over twenty secondary school students, and work tools to deserving youths. There was also an award presentation session to worthy individuals.

The event had in attendance Royal Fathers and eminent dignitaries including representatives of the Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Hon.
