ijebu north youth council collaborates with iid-uk to train youths in ijebu igbo

It was joy unspeakable as the maiden edition of Youth Skill Acquisition Programme organized by National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ijebu North Local Government Branch. The first edition which was tagged Learn a skill now and pay your bills later, was done in collaboration with Ijebu Igbo Descendant-United Kingdom at Ijebu Igbo Local Government Secretariat and has 11 youths that were selected from the five (5) quarters of Ijebu Igbo that were enrolled in various trades like Hair Dressing, Fashion Designing, Catering and Decoration, Arts and Publicity.

At the official presentation of the apprentices to their various bosses, the guests present are full of praises to the organizers of the program while also urging the apprentices to face their job squarely.

At the event, the various Youths were handed over to their bosses and their agreement fees were paid immediately.

 2. Hon. Sylvester Niyi Abiodun (Member,Ogun State House of Assembly)

 3. Hon. Ismaila Sansa (Vice Chairman Transition Committee Ijebu North Local Government)

In their reaction, the parents were full of prayers for the organizers while also promising to make sure that the beneficiaries will do face their work and be diligent.


The first phase of the program is expected to run for 6month, while plans of empowering them are ongoing.

There was an immense appreciation to the Executives and Members of Ijebu Igbo Descendant-United Kingdom for deeming it fit to give back to the community especially the youths through this program as the youth leadership prayed that Almighty God continue bless the forum.
