The Ogun State Youth Leader, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe, has commended Muslim Faithfuls across the State on the successful completion of the holy exercise of Ramadan, urging them to embrace peace, love and understanding for one another.
In a press release made available by the Youth Council Spokesperson, Com. Adebare Ariyibi , at Ogun Youth House, Abeokuta, on Thursday May 13, 2021, Ayelaagbe urged Muslim Faithfuls to remember that the annual “Ramadan fast is one of the five pillars of Islam, others being an attestation of Faith, Prayer, Charity (Zakat), and pilgrimage to Mecca - these being the framework of the Muslim tenets.
Ayelaagbe called on Nigerians to ignore those calling for violence or issuing quit notice to other Nigerians as there will never be a satisfaction to self-pursuit. According to him, Nigeria will only become a stronger, unified and prosperous nation when citizens listen to genuine concerns of others with a spirit of understanding.
“I pray that this celebration ease our challenges and brings us tranquility. Let us therefore, shun all attitudes, behaviors, and actions that promote hatred, religious intolerance, disunity and violence.
“I urged us to embrace true love that would promote peace and unity among us as a nation to allow for meaningful progress and development which our dear nation is in dire need of at this trying time,” he added.
