The youth leadership of Ogun State in its mandate to continually promote youth capacity—building via skill acquisition, on Thursday October 28, 2021, made an official visitation to the management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
At the meeting, a high—powered delegation of the Youth Council led by its Chairman, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe, highlighted the current leadership's service delivery contract, the structures of the Youth Council, and the need to meet the school management to assess available resources on entrepreneurship development that can be leveraged on for youth capacity building.
Citing instances where the management of the school under the current leadership had supported the Youth Council in executing a few youth—focused assignments, Ayelaagbe stated that the visitation is expected to enhance the relationship with the institution to further impact the lives of the youths positively.
In his reaction, the Rector of MAPOLY, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, commended the Youth Council and their outstanding moral conduct over time. According to Odedeji, academic and technical education remains the key focus of the institution as he added that capacity building on information technology and entrepreneurship for the staff and students is in continuum.
To buttress the institution's commitment to building the skills of young people to see them compete favorably in the global market, the Rector stated ongoing projects to include the multi—millionaire Skill Acquisition Center, a new School of Business and Management Building, and an Environmental Studies Building all to be completed by December. Other projects recently built include a large CBT center, a modern digital literacy Centre sponsored by NCC, an online radio and the terrestrial MAPOLY 99.7FM already set for launching.
During the inspection of both ongoing and completed projects, the youth leadership of Ogun State appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun to sustain the resuscitation drive of MAPOLY through the leadership of Dr. Adeoye Odedeji to see the institution return fully to its glory.
Among the youth delegation were State Executives who are Alumni of the institution, and the immediate past State Chairman of the Youth Council, Prince Adeleke Adebajo who continue serves in capacity as a State Leader.
