The youth leadership of Ogun State has felicitated with a notable youth leader of the Nigerian Girl Guide Association, Iyanuoluwa Sonde, on her election into the African Region Committee of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGS) at the recently concluded conference held in Tanzania.

Iyanuoluwa, a passionate youth leader from Ogun State, has contributed immensely to youth development and served in several capacities and recognition as Youth Leader of Nigerian Girl Guides Association in Ogun State; Africa Coordinator for Menstrual Hygiene Management; U-Report Global Ambassador for WAGGS; Global Advocacy Champion for Wave Maker of Plastic Tide Turners; 2020 YESS Participant at Madagascar (an initiative of Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation and WAGGS); and a Member of She Leads Africa (SLA).

In a congratulatory message signed by the State Chairman of the Youth Council, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe reiterated that Sonde has been a resourceful and selfless youth whose contribution to humanity knows no bound.

“We are confident she will make Ogun State and Nigeria proud as done in her previous international assignments,” Ayelaagbe stated.

The Africa Regional Committee is the highest decision making role in Africa for World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
