ogun youth council chairman, com (prince) adeleke adebajo delivers lecture on community development activities.
The State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Com. (Prince) Adeleke Adebajo, today March 27, 2019, addressed an audience of Community Leaders at the Social Development Institute, Iperu, Ogun State.
Adebajo, who was a Guest Lecturer at the annual Citizenship and Leadership Training (ShaSha) organized by the State's Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, discussed on SUSTAINING THE PRESENT TEMPO OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN OGUN THROUGH INCREASED YOUTH PARTICIPATION & ENGAGEMENT.
In his lecture, Adebajo stated the Youth as the driving force of any community. He expressed the Youth group being at the centre of almost all endeavors to be geared towards transforming our communities; furthermore, a community whose youths are less represented risk stagnacy, and possibly retrogression because the energy available in such community will become less utilized.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Ministry of Youth & Sport towards offering unparalleled support to the successes of the Council, Adebajo proclaimed that a mere one-third of the over four million resourceful youths of Ogun state in community development activities is capable of improving and transforming Ogun state as a role model of community development in Nigeria.
The Basic and Advanced level of the Citizenship and Leadership Courses runs annually. The effort is being made to sensitize and educate Community Leaders on becoming more committed to the progress of their communities. The training also avails the Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives a platform to groom the youths on community doctrines.
