A former Vice Chairman of t he National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun Central Senatorial District, Olakunle Oluomo has emerged the Speaker of Ogun Ninth Assembly.
Oluomo, a non-serving leader of the Youth Council and three-term lawmaker representing Ifo 1 state constituency, was elected the new Speaker of Ogun state by all the 26 members of the assembly.
Oluomo, with almost a decade involvement in legislative representation, was unopposed at the election held on June 10, 2019, at the State House of Assembly.
In his felicitation remark to the new Speaker, the State Chairman of the Council, Com. (Prince) Adeleke Adebajo, described Oluomo as a veteran lawmaker and Leader whose experience is much needed for the position. “We are proud to see a Leader of the Council assumed the most revered legislative office in the state. This feat is a reflection of the discipline inculcated in an average member of the Council in Ogun state,” Adebajo added.
Other elected representatives are: Deputy Speaker, Dare Kadiri; Majority Leader, Yusuf Serif; Dep. Majority Leader, Bashir Oladunjoye; Chief Whip, Atinuke Bello; Dep. Chief Whip, Sola Adams; Minority Leader, Ganiyu Oyedeji; Minority Chief Whip, Jemil Akingbade; and Dep. Minority Whip, Muse Lamidi.
