ogun youth council chairman attends girls’ brigade 2019 camp opening ceremony

The Ogun State Chairman  of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Com.  Abdul-Jabar Ayelagbe today attended the Ogun State division of Girls’ Brigade Nigeria 2019 Camp opening ceremony held at Peter Akinola Foundation, Obada Oko, Abeokuta.

In his address, the Chairman appreciated the leadership of Girls Brigade for building a greater future for our dear State and Nigeria through the training of girls.

He emphasized, scripturally, that girls are so important that it is declared that when you train a girl, you have trained a whole nation. He advised the girls to take all the training seriously and be the best to become great source of pride to our dear state and humanity.

The Ogun Youth Council Chairman used the opportunity to express his heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of the organization for effective representation at the Youth Council and support for his candidacy and team at the recently held Congress.

Ayelagbe  equally encouraged the campers to adhere to the motto of Girls brigade that says “To help girls become the followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, through reverence, self control and a sense of responsibility.” He described the motto instructive enough as a popular adage says, “When you train a girl child, you train a nation.”

The ceremony witnessed in attendance, the Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun represented by Mrs Osota; the Managing Director of OPIC, Mrs. Ibiyemi Adeoye; South West Commissioner of Girls Brigade, Mrs Funmi Akosile; Pro.(Dr.) & Mrs. Adesanya among other distinguished personalities.
