obafemi owode hosts state leadership at inauguration ceremony
The Obafemi Owode Local Government branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria hosted the state leadership of the Council to her Inauguration Ceremony for the new leadership on December 4, 2019.
The Youth Coordinator of the Local Government, Com. Benjamin Oluwemimo, in his welcome address appreciated the State Executives and Guests of the day for the honorary presence at the event. The State Chairman, Com. Abdul-Jabar Ayelagbe, enjoined the new Executives to ensure activeness in youth developmental works towards restoring the glory of the Council in Obafemi Owode. Ayelagbe stated his expectations for a formidable team of leadership as he exercised his constitutional right to inaugurate the Coordinator and other Executives.
In her goodwill message, the Mother of the day, Chief (Mrs.) J.P Fadipe, admonished the youth leadership of the branch to be of good Ambassadors to their homes, communities, and the youth constituency. Addressing the audience, she also cautioned the youth against any act of intolerance for another, and to ensure that all communities within the local government are properly represented in all they do.
Contributing to the goodwill message, the Legal Adviser for the Council’s branch, Barrister Babatunde Solaja, warned the youth to stay off crime and to embrace every opportunity to empower themselves, develop their communities and build the nation. “It is important you remain upright in all your doings,” he advised.
The Director of Social Community for Obafemi Owode Local Government, represented by Mr. Ahmed Soboyejo, appealed to the State leadership of the Council to ensure the new leadership of Obafemi Owode branch is being carried along in all state’s activities. According to Soboyejo, the new Leaders are tested and trusted hands capable of delivering beyond expectations.
The Deputy Chairman of the Council, Com. Olawale Senbadejo, urged the Youth to be self-sacrificing as their efforts will never be in vain. On a similar note, the Council’s Vice-Chairman for Ogun Central Senatorial District, Com. Adekunle Adewale, also employed the opportunity to remind the Executives that there could be no better time to reinvigorate the trust of the council in the capacity of Obafemi Owode branch.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the local government’s secretariat, also witnessed an award presentation to former Coordinators of the Local Government Branch, Com. Toyo Joseph and Com. Alaka. The event had a large audience with representations from voluntary uniform organizations and community/civil organizations.
