youths are the hope of our nation – hon. sola adams

The Chairman of House Committee on Youth, Sports & Empowerment, Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Sola Adams, has charged the Youths of Southern Nigeria to be committed to self–development and nation building.

At the closing ceremony of the event tagged ‘National Youth Empowerment Programme on Entrepreneurship Training for vulnerable Youth from the Southern Part of the Country,’ Adams stated that the fate of the country lies on the young generation which he remains proud to be part of. “In view of the amounting challenges of our society and the mental strength of our youths to continuously survive against all odds, it is not an overstatement to say that our youths have the capacity to move mountains if rightly empowered. As a Youth, I am confident to say that we are the hope of our nation,” he said while addressing the pressmen.

In his opening remark, the Hon. Minister for Youth & Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare, represented by the federal Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olusade Adesola appealed to the Youth to build on the training received while on camp to ensure self–sustainability and contribution to the growth of the society. The training organized by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is a two-week camp to develop the entrepreneurship capacity of vulnerable youths across the southern states of the nation.

The training held at the National Youth Development Centre, Owode-Egba, Ogun State, commenced on December 1st and ended with a closing ceremony on December 14, 2019. In attendance at the closing event were the Traditional Ruler of Owode-Egba, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, a Representative of the State Security Services, and the Director for Youth Department for Ogun State Ministry of Youth & Sports, among others.
