nigerian export promotion council, abeokuta, organizes youth export mentorship programme

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Abeokuta Export Assistance Office, has organized a 3 Days Youth Export Mentorship Programme in Ogun State with the theme - MAXIMIZATION OF EXPORT OPPORTUNITIES BY NIGERIAN YOUTHS.

The programme holding across the three senatorial districts of Ogun state, a day training per senatorial, is aimed at institutionalizing a special platform for Nigerian Youths to effectively participate in non-oil export of the economy, create jobs through breaking of barrier and prepare Nigerian economy for a future without oil.

Delivering his welcome address at the venue of Ogun Central Senatorial District, held at DLK Event Centre, Abiola Way, Abeokuta, the Trade Promotion Adviser for NEPC Abeokuta Smart Office, Mr. S. A. Idowu elucidated the purpose of the programme is to develop the interest of youths in taking advantage of available exporting opportunities to promote worthy business initiatives and boost profit profile.

The Managing Director of Exclusive Nigeria Limited, Mrs. Josephine Ijie, who handled the Technical Session of the programme urged the youth to maximize the potentials of textile and apparel export to lift themselves and families out of poverty.

There were keynote addresses from the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Youth & Sports, and that of Commerce and Industry. The programme which witnessed the active participation of hundreds of youths had in attendance members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, Corps members, and young Entrepreneurs.
Reacting to the impact of the training, the State Secretary of the Youth Council, Akolawole Shoremi, commended the effort of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council. “This programme is laudable and one which the State Government should look into promoting financially. It is high time we began shift our attention to opportunities available in non-oil products,” Shoremi stated.

The one-day training for the East Senatorial district was held on March 4, 2020, while the training for Ogun West Senatorial district is billed to hold on March 6, 2020, at Senator Ibikunle Amosun Multipurpose Cooperative Hall, Ilaro, Yewa South at 10am prompt.
